Cave Development was founded by Brett Johnson, a veteran developer with decades of experience spanning tax credit housing, market-rate multifamily, and high-end real estate. After developing over 5,000 apartment units and $700 million in assets as a founding partner of Overland Property Group — a firm acquired by Chicago-based hedge fund Magnetar Capital in 2020 — Brett launched Cave Development to meet a growing demand for premium, flexible-use storage and workspace solutions. His development track record includes over 70 successfully executed projects, with deep expertise in land acquisition, entitlements, financing, leasing, and strategic exits. With strong institutional relationships and a history of community-enhancing work, Cave Development reflects Brett’s continued commitment to creating purposeful, high-performing real estate — from the ground up.
